The largest of Rainbow’s discount stores in Devon was in need of a significant increase in its retail space for the introduction of new furniture and soft furnishings lines. The store had become dated and over crowded with product lines and needed streamlining and modernising.
Western Industrial installed a Davicon mezzanine floor, which provided an extra 18,000 square feet of usable space. The one hour fire rated structure included bright orange fascias, white column casings and a stainless steel and glass hand railing system which lifted the appearance of the whole store.
The structure was installed in three sections over a six week period during which time two thirds of the store remained fully operational. The benefit of the new floor was immediate with footfall and sales increasing dramatically for both the original and the new lines.
