Case Study 1

We were approached by one of valued trade partners to assist in the supply, design and manufacture of a new two tier mezzanine floor for one of their London Stock Exchange registered customers who have a global presence in the supplying hardware to the industry.

The Challenge...

With the mezzanine floor being used predominantly for storage of components on shelving, we needed to provide a design that would work with initial shelving layout provided, whilst working with the constraints of the floor slab. We also needed to provide the maximum permissible loading per shelving bay with the parameters provided. Within our design we also needed to consider a good lift that would be incorporated into the floor along with two tower staircases.

The Solution...

Following input from our technical team, we modelled the floor to reverse check that the floor design would accommodate the rack leg point loads. Following ongoing discussions with our trade partner we were able to design a solution that allowed for the column grid that worked with both the proposed column grid and worked.

Design...

Two tier mezzanine floor

2787 sq metres of floor

3 tower staircases
